Make sure to check out some of my GITA years

What where learing about and what we learned last year

This year we are in GITA 2 or as it’s known in the school AP computer science principles. So far in the year we are working with HTML and creating web pages like this one you are reading. On top of that we have incorporated elements of Javascrpit in to the projects to add neet features and important processes that HTML can’t perform.

Last year I was in GITA 1 and was introduced to the world of computer science and coding as a whole. Specifically we were coding in C# with visual studio and started off like this year learning the mechanics before moving on to making complex games.Just as a small example last year we made a dice project where you could roll two dice, not too hard to make but what I thought was cool was that we made it so that you could see the probability of what dice you could roll on the next go. Or the one we did after that where we took the dice and made it so you could play an entire craps game.

Future Educational Goals

First and foremost, I am determined to finish high school with flying colors, aiming for nothing less than straight A's in all my courses. I believe that a strong academic foundation is crucial for success in any field.

In addition to academic excellence, I have a particular interest in the world of technology and computer science. One of my key goals is to participate in the Boeing internship, at the end of my GITA class. This internship opportunity will provide me with invaluable real-world experience and allow me to apply the knowledge and skills I have acquired throughout my studies.

Future Career Goals

I have a strong passion for computer coding and the vast possibilities it offers. At this stage, it's highly likely that I will pursue a career in the field of technology, potentially specializing in game development or other areas related to coding. I find immense joy in the process of creating and problem-solving through coding. The idea of bringing virtual worlds to life and crafting interactive experiences fascinates me.

I also recognize the importance of staying open-minded and adaptable. As I continue to learn and gain experience, I am open to discovering new passions and career paths. Regardless of the specific path I ultimately choose, my commitment to continuous learning, growth, and innovation remains unwavering. I am excited to embark on this journey and see where it takes me.

AP classes are you taking

I am enrolled in a range of challenging and enriching Advanced Placement (AP) classes, although there was a slight change in my original plan. I had initially intended to take AP Seminar, a course that greatly interested me. However, due to scheduling conflicts, I unfortunately couldn't include it in my current class schedule.

While I wasn't able to pursue AP Seminar as originally planned, I am actively engaged in other AP classes that align with my interests and future goals like as for an example this class your reading about GITA 2. These courses provide a challenging academic experience and help me build a strong foundation for my educational journey.

GITA

In GITA 2, we explore a wide range of subjects related to information technology. This includes advanced computer coding and programming languages, web development, database management, cybersecurity, and more. Through hands-on projects and practical assignments, we have the opportunity to apply our knowledge and develop real-world skills.

One of the key focuses of GITA 2 is honing our problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. We are presented with complex challenges and tasked with finding innovative solutions using the tools and techniques we have learned. This not only strengthens our technical skills but also enhances our ability to analyze problems and think creatively.

Clubs

Currently, I am a member of two diverse clubs that allow me to explore different interests and engage with like-minded individuals. The first club I am a part of is Cyber Patriot, a program run by the US Air Force. Cyber Patriot focuses on cybersecurity education and training. Through this program, I have the opportunity to learn about various aspects of cybersecurity, including network security, system hardening, and ethical hacking. It's an exciting club that not only provides valuable knowledge but also encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

In addition to Cyber Patriot, I am also a member of the Warhammer Club. This small club is centered around the tabletop game called Warhammer 40,000 (Warhammer 40k). Warhammer 40k is a fascinating game that combines strategy, creativity, and imagination. Being a part of this club allows me to connect with fellow enthusiasts and engage in friendly competitions. It's a great way to unwind, exercise strategic thinking, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow players.

Community Service

Community service is an important aspect of my life, and as a Boy Scout, I actively engage in various service projects. Currently, I am working towards achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, which involves undertaking significant community service initiatives and demonstrating leadership skills.

I have had the opportunity to participate in a wide range of community service activities. Some of the projects I have been involved in include building parts of railroads, assisting with environmental cleanup efforts, and volunteering at local food banks. These experiences have allowed me to contribute to the betterment of my community while also learning valuable skills and fostering a sense of responsibility and empathy. In addition to these projects, I have also had the privilege of participating in meaningful events such as planting flags at the Richard Nixon Library in remembrance of 9/11. It is an honor to pay tribute to those who have sacrificed and to be part of a community that comes together during times of remembrance and reflection.
